Laptop Screen Price in India: What a Replacement Really Costs in 2026
What a replacement laptop screen costs — standard panels, touch assemblies and MacBook displays — and how to identify the exact panel your laptop takes.

A cracked laptop screen feels like the end of the machine. It usually isn't: on most laptops the panel is a standard, replaceable part, and the replacement costs a fraction of a new machine. Here's what screens actually cost in India in 2026, and — the part most guides skip — how to identify the exact panel your laptop takes.
Laptop screen price in India
- Standard panels (15.4" / 15.6", HD and FHD) — ₹5,400 to ₹6,400. The common case: a non-touch panel behind a plastic bezel. The panel is generic — matched by size, resolution and connector, not by laptop brand.
- Touch and panel assemblies (Dell, Lenovo Yoga and similar) — ₹4,600 to ₹5,800. Touch laptops pair the glass and display as one unit, matched to the exact model (E7450, Yoga 520 and so on) rather than by size.
- MacBook full assemblies — from around ₹10,400. Apple displays replace as a complete lid assembly; matching is by the A-number on the underside (A1278, A1502…).
Add fitting: a competent service desk charges a few hundred rupees for a standard panel swap; touch assemblies and MacBooks take longer. Anyone quoting a five-figure "screen repair" on a standard panel is charging you for not knowing the part costs ₹6,000.
How to identify your panel — three things
Size: measure the visible screen diagonally, panel only, in inches — 15.6" is by far the most common. Resolution: HD (1366×768) and FHD (1920×1080) panels are different parts; check your spec sheet or Windows display settings. Connector: older panels use a 40-pin connector, newer ones 30-pin — the one detail that most often catches people. If the old screen comes out first, its label carries a panel model number that settles everything; otherwise the laptop's model number plus those three facts is enough for any competent parts desk to match it.
Replace the screen, or the laptop?
Honest arithmetic: if the machine is otherwise healthy — battery holds, keyboard works, performance acceptable — a ₹6,000 panel against a ₹25,000+ new laptop is not a close call. Replace the screen. The cases to think harder: a 7-year-old machine already slowing down, or damage that went past the screen into the hinges and body. And if the "slow" part is the real complaint, a screen plus an SSD upgrade together still costs a third of a new machine and fixes both problems.
Before you buy
- Match exactly — size, resolution and pin count for panels; the precise model for touch assemblies; the A-number for MacBooks.
- Genuine with a GST invoice — refurbished panels sold as new are common in this market, and a dead pixel line appears fast on them.
- Let a steady hand fit it — the panel survives shipping; hurried prying kills more screens than couriers do.
The POWERX laptop screen range covers standard 15.4"/15.6" HD and FHD panels, Dell and Lenovo touch assemblies and MacBook full assemblies — genuine parts with a GST invoice and warranty, served from five branches across India: Bengaluru, Mumbai, Vashi, Pune and Hyderabad.
